Portia Bright Pittman is a visionary leader and the driving force behind Bright Books Publishing Company, where she serves as Founder and CEO. With a passion for literature and a keen eye for innovation, Portia has cultivated Bright Books into a beacon of creativity and inspiration within the publishing industry.

Beyond her entrepreneurial pursuits, Portia is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders. As a mentor, she guides youth to make a positive impact in their communities through civic engagement, instilling in them the values of empathy, responsibility, and social justice.

Portia's educational journey reflects her commitment to continuous growth and learning. She holds an Associate's Degree in Human Services and Substance Abuse Counseling from Pitt Community College, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Additionally, Portia has enriched her skill set through prestigious programs such as the Cornell University Bank of America Institute Women's Entrepreneur Program and the University of South Florida Muma College of Business Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program.

Prior to her role at Bright Books, Portia served as a legislative assistant to legislators in the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives. Her experience in public service and advocacy has shaped her into a compassionate leader dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Driven by her passion for literature, advocacy, and community empowerment, Portia continues to inspire and uplift those around her through her entrepreneurial ventures and mentorship efforts. As she paves the way for a brighter future, Portia remains steadfast in her mission to create positive change and foster a culture of inclusivity and opportunity for all.
